Kidnap & Extortion
The ANVIL Group has worked globally with governments, corporations and individuals in the field of kidnap for ransom and extortion (K&R).
Kidnap and Extortion are unique crimes insofar as they are live incidents that require resolution and investigation while they are actually occurring. For this reason, and as a hostage's life is often at risk, they require special and sensitive handling by all agencies involved, including the victim's organisation.
We will work with you to develop a Kidnap & Extortion programme that is likely to comprise the following elements:
- A Corporate Policy setting out the risk appetite and stance of the corporation on the payment of ransom.
- The gearing of a 'Special Risks' or 'K&E' Insurance Policy.
- Engagement with The ANVIL Group and Law Enforcement Agencies, such as the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) in the UK, for contingency planning;
- Data Profiles for the individuals at risk.
- Kidnap Awareness Training for executives and other high risk personnel.
- An Emergency Assistance Service; preferably linked with a travel security emergency assistance service.
- An Operational Response Plan.
