Job summary

The Director of Strategic Operations is responsible for the strategic management, control, growth, development, and maintenance of the Operations Department and specialized project support on behalf of our clients. Concurrently, the Director of Strategic Operations supports the Managing Director and Vice President of Business Operations in the accrual and development of commercial growth in ancillary support services to our clients. This role is primarily focused on Anvil’s US and Canadian client support services, but may support special requests from Anvil’s global team members.

The Director of Strategic Operations will manage the Operations Department and assist the Sales Team in strengthening client relationships in terms of delivering unique, specialized project support, consultative advice, and operational environment policy and security support services. These may include on-site support and direct product delivery of Anvil services to ensure product quality control, commercial viability, and direct client interaction in the provision of bespoke client services.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead Operations Department to support the operational needs of Anvil’s client base
  • Delivery and oversight of client-specific training initiatives
  • Delivery of non-traditional client requests for operational support
  • Security consultancy, assistance, and crisis management
  • Construction and oversight of policy support initiatives for Anvil clients
  • Support for RFP capture and RFP construction requirements in collaboration with Vice President of Business Operations
  • Ability to travel, oversee, and deliver project management support to non-traditional service requests from Anvil clients
  • On-site Anvil representation for prospective clients as well as client-for-life initiatives
  • Create, develop, and implement new and innovative commercial opportunities for Anvil clients; potential on-site QA/QC of vendor support staff, facilities, and procedures
  • Proactively seek alternate and new suppliers in busy regions or those currently not covered sufficiently by Anvil
  • In conjunction with the Operations and Intelligence Teams, provide pro-active and real-time advice to clients where any incident or situation might impact their personnel, business infrastructure, or business operations
  • Participate on the Executive Leadership Team and drive Anvil’s cultural initiatives of fun, confidence, inclusivity, trust, openness, and motivation

 

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to security, intelligence, or business development
  • 10 years of physical security discipline experience
  • 5 years in program/project management disciplines and delivery
  • Strong technical acumen (MS Office)
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret common business, technical, financial, and legal documents
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, effective in communicating both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to manage and implement services utilizing third-party Anvil partners
  • Exceptional client-facing professionalism, include client relations and customer service support capabilities
  • Ability to formulate and construct enterprise level policy support documentation for Fortune 500 companies
  • Ability to support Sales Manager in solicitation and capture of commercial initiatives (business development background)

Preferred

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a field related to security, intelligence, or business development
